Celebrating Community and Culture at the Alberta Indigenous Games

We were proud to see our member, Bird Construction, take part in the Opening Ceremony of the Alberta Indigenous Games this past week—a powerful celebration that brings together Indigenous youth from across Alberta and beyond.

Over the course of 10 days, more than 8,000 young athletes from across Canada and the U.S. gathered to compete in 15 sporting events, participate in cultural celebrations, and build meaningful connections. As the largest annual Summer Games in Canada, the event continues to grow each year, inspiring youth through sport, tradition, and community.

Guided by the powerful motto, “Coaching Youth for Life, Career, and Sport,” the Alberta Indigenous Games go beyond athletics. They foster educational empowerment, promote career opportunities, and celebrate Indigenous cultures and traditions.
